Known for her patronage of boutiques in Milan and Rodeo Drive, Victoria Beckham has now provided a timely boost to the business of a Cumbrian cloth maker.

Mandrake hears that David Beckham’s wife, who unveiled her latest collection in New York this week, sourced the fabric she is using for her designer frocks – which retail for up to £4,900 – from the Carlisle firm Linton Tweeds.

Her spokesman will not say in which of the 23 creations the fabric was used. However, Victoria’s latest designs include a number of dresses and a range of cape-style coats.

It is thought that the Linton fabric, black tweed with a rubber yarn through it, may have been used to create one of these.[/lang_en]

[lang_en]Former Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham flew in from Los Angeles recently to be with husband David after his permanent transfer to AC Milan.

According to thesun.co.uk, the whole family, including David’s parents and Victoria’s parents, will fly to Italy to watch David play. They will then return to London for David to report for his training as England prepare to take on Spain next week.

A source close to the Beckhams said: “Obviously they have lots to discuss as a family. David wants to stay at AC Milan if a deal can be worked out and Victoria is being supportive.”

David is supposed to return to practise with his Los Angeles Galaxy team on Mar 9 but his lawyers are also working to release him from that deal.

The source added: “It is far from done. He may have to play for LA Galaxy next month.”

Becks said: “I’ve expressed my desire to stay in Milan.”[/lang_en]

The big freeze doesn’t seem to be a problem for Victoria Beckham as she jetted into snow-covered Britain in a knee-length mac with very little underneath.

The former Spice girl hurried through Heathrow airport in the smart silver trench coat, a large pair of sunglasses, a black and white checked bag and grey platform heels. But it was what she wasn’t wearing that raised the most eyebrows.

But the small glimpse of her thigh was all she revealed of her under-coat attire.

Posh, 34, has come to Britain to discuss David’s possible permanent move to AC Milan. After flying in from Los Angeles she headed straight to the family’s Hertfordshire home – dubbed Beckingham Palace.

The family – including David’s parents Sandra and Ted and Victoria’s Tony and Jackie – are reported to be flying to Italy today to watch Beckham play.[/lang_en] (more…)

Victoria Beckham enjoyed a spot of shopping with two of her sons in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The 34-year-old donned a pair of killer heels for her trip out while Romeo, eight, and Cruz, who will turn four this month, wore matching outfits.

Victoria was seen holding on tight to her sons’ hands – perhaps to steady herself as she negotiated a set of stairs in her huge heels. The star was wearing her trademark shades and was trussed up in a stunning thigh-splitting black dress and cardigan.

During their shopping spree, the boys got American Football team Pittsburgh Steelers caps. Victoria was spotted enjoying some quality time with her sons on Saturday while her husband David is on loan to AC Milan.[/lang_en] (more…)

[lang_en]Victoria Beckham is not in line to join the X Factor panel.

The Sun reports that while the show’s bosses are set to meet next week to discuss the judges’ contracts, the former Spice Girl is not on the cards to replace Dannii Minogue.

A spokeswoman for The X Factor stated there was “no truth” in the rumours, published in the Daily Mail, that Posh Spice was in advanced talks with Simon Cowell to replace Dannii.

A senior insider from the show told The Sun: “That is utter rubbish. Simon has not spoken to Victoria at all.”

Another source is quoted as saying: “Nothing is being decided or officially discussed until next week.”

The Sun previously reported Dannii, 37, is favourite to be axed from the ITV1 talent show in a bid to refresh the format, but only if a suitable replacement can be found.

Lily Allen and Charlotte Church are apparently being considered, but mother-of-two Charlotte says she’s too busy, while Lily commented: “I haven’t been asked but I’d love to do it. The world would be a lesser place if we did not have winners Leona Lewis and Alexandra. It’s a great programme — and I think I’d be quite good.”

Last year, Sharon Osbourne reportedly quit in a row over pay days before she was expected on set, and was replaced by Girls Aloud’s Cheryl Cole.

Cheryl went on to be a hit with viewers and won the show with her act Alexandra Burke. She will definitely return with Louis Walsh next series.

Meanwhile Simon has said in interviews that he would like to take a behind-the-camera role in the show.[/lang_en]

[lang_en]David Beckham has settled in well since his move to Milan, already making a large impact in his loan spell.

Many reports indicate Milan would like to keep the English midfielder until beyond his expected return date to the LA Galaxy of March 9 and it appears his wife, Victoria, is in favour of the idea.

“I am happy, because I know David is happy in Milan, explained the former member of the Spice Girls, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport. “It’s wonderful to see he has already scored some goals in this like, I jump for joy when he scores.”

The 34-year-old was then asked how she enjoyed the staying in the ‘fashion capital’ of the world.

“I know many people here, especially from the world of fashion: Dolce and Gabbana, Armani and his staff, Cavalli, Berardi. The city is vibrant and full of energy and passion. You always eat well, there is no reason not to appreciate Milan.[/lang_en] (more…)

The former Spice Girl is determined to show her soccer star husband – who is currently completing a stint with AC Milan, on loan from his normal team Los Angeles Galaxy – what he is missing while he is away.

A source revealed: “She’s now desperate to remind David how great their life is in America every time he calls or texts.”

Victoria – who has three sons, Brooklyn, nine, Romeo, six and three-year-old Cruz, with David – has also started inviting the couple’s friends round for parties in an effort to show her husband how good their social life is in America.

The source added: “Victoria has pals round for barbeques and brunches, then calls David so everyone can chat to him.

“She wants him to hear all about the glorious weather, people hanging out by the pool and the boys playing with all their friends.”

David, 33, is said to be keen to make his loan spell at AC Milan a permanent move, despite Victoria’s reluctance to move the family to Italy.[/lang_en]

[lang_en]The former Spice Girl was said to be considering an offer of more than £1million a series in a move which could help her invigorate her showbusiness career.

Mr Cowell wanted her to replace Miss Minogue before the new series of the highly-popular ITV programme in the autumn, the story claimed.

Mrs Beckham, 34, has been living in Los Angeles with her children while her husband David plays football for the LA Galaxy.

But if he transfers to AC Milan, where he is currently on loan, she could consider moving back to Europe and joining X Factor.

She is also said to have been tempted after seeing the success fellow WAG and singer Cheryl Cole, 25, has had since joining as a judge, the report claimed.

A friend told the Daily Mail: “She doesn’t want to come back to Europe with her tail between her legs. But if she can return here to be on the X Factor, then that is different.”

The move could cause tension between Mrs Beckham and Mrs Cole – something which may have positively influenced mischievous Cowell’s decision.

Although the two women are friends, the Girls Aloud singer has made a series of negative comments about her contemporary Posh recently.

In January, she criticised her for her lack of support when the allegations of her husband Ashley Cole’s infidelity surfaced.

And she was recently quoted as saying that Mrs Beckham’s fashion range of dresses was for “older women” and “not something (Girls Aloud) would wear”.

Simon Cowell’s spokesman Max Clifford told the Mail: “Simon speaks very highly of Victoria. I know he likes her a lot. This deal has not been mentioned to me.”

A spokesman for Simon Cowell denied the story and said: “It’s complete rubbish. Nobody has ever had a conversation with Victoria Beckham or her people about this. She has not even been considered for the job.”[/lang_en]

Victoria Beckham feels like a gay man.

The 34-year-old former Spice Girls singer says she has more in common with homosexual men than her own gender.

She said: “I love women. I like them as friends, as interesting people to speak with. But I love gay men. I always say it. Inside me there is a gay man who wants to come out!

“With heterosexual men I have nothing in common – excluding my husband, brothers and father, you understand.”

Victoria – who has three sons with her soccer star husband David – also revealed she hopes to one day have a daughter.

She told the Italian edition of Vanity Fair magazine: “If it happens, I’d love it. You can’t choose what you have but after three boys I would love a girl.”

The fashionable star also revealed she doesn’t understand soccer, despite David’s super star status in the game.

She added: “It is lovely to see that he has scored in the championship. I jump for joy when David scores – but my passions are other things. I don’t understand a thing about football.

“I do listen to him when he talks about it because I know it is what his life is about.”

The monks are upset about a state-of-the-art mosquito exterminator installed at the couple’s recently renovated new home on the Thai island of Koh Samui.

The religious men – who believe all animals, no matter how small, are equal – have reportedly suggested the former Spice Girl and her soccer star husband find a non-harmful solution to the blood-sucking insects

A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “The Beckhams were very keen to keep the mosquitoes out because they can carry disease, as well as being annoying.

“But the last thing they want to do is annoy the locals, especially the monks who’ve been here hundreds of years, so they’ve got a real dilemma now.”

The Beckhams bought their three-storey hillside home on the island in 2007 for 4.5 million Euros ($A 8.6m), but the full cost of the home after renovations is believed to be closer to 10 million Euros ($A 19.2m).

The house is also partly environmentally friendly, utilising solar panels to create some of its electricity. It also boasts 360-degree views of the popular holiday island.

Victoria Beckham has ended her friendship with chef Gordon Ramsay after reports that he had an affair with author Sarah Symonds. Gordon and wife Tana were regular guests at the Beckham’s LA home but sources have told the Daily Mail that Posh has decided to cut the chef out of their social circle.

“Victoria and Gordon were good friends, and were even discussing a plan to set up a restaurant in LA,” a source said. “But Victoria has put distance between them following the story about Gordon cheating.” Ramsay has consistently denied having the affair.[/lang_en]
