David Beckham has told of how much he missed his wife and children while playing football in Italy.

The England star has been on loan at AC Milan since January, while Victoria and their three sons have remained in the United States.

“There are sacrifices I have made to be in Milan and play for AC Milan,” he said.

“I haven’t seen my children for six or seven weeks and that’s the biggest sacrifice I have had to make.

“Not seeing my family, not seeing my wife.

“I know there are many people with many jobs that do that but it doesn’t get any easier, doesn’t matter who you are.”

Beckham has missed his eldest son Brooklyn’s tenth birthday party and youngest son Cruz’s third birthday whilst being in Italy.

However, he promised that his future is back in Los Angeles with his family, playing football for LA Galaxy.

“I’m very committed to the Galaxy and like I said before I want to see the game grow in the US,” he said.

“I believe there is huge potential for the game.”

Beckham will fly back to the US after his involvement in England’s upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.
