It’s not surprising Victoria Beckham looks super toned in her latest campaign for Emporio Armani. The thought of standing around in her undies apparently prompted the former Spice Girl to work extra hard to get into shape for the lingerie shoot.

The singer turned fashion designer was in New York to present her new Emporio Armani lingerie campaign on Wednesday. Dressed in Swarovski beaded leggings and a tux jacket, the mum-of-three reveals the pains she took to get her body looking its best in preparation for the revealing shots.

In the past Victoria Beckham has complained of “looking really awful naked”, but in a new series of lingerie ads for Armani the mum-of-three shows off a figure most women would envy.

Reclining backwards onto a bed, wearing only underwear and sky-high heels, the toned 34-year-old poses provocatively in the shots promoting the Italian fashion house’s spring/summer collection.

The former Spice Girl has appeared in Armani ads before, both solo and with her husband David Beckham. And last year she followed in his footsteps by signing her own £12 million, three-year contract with the label.

With so many aspects of her career to juggle, it’s little wonder Victoria has to call on her friends to help out with child care once in a while. And on Sunday it was Katie Holmes who stepped forward to entertain the British couple’s youngest sons, Romeo, six, and four-year-old Cruz.

Tom Cruise’s actress wife was spotted in Los Angeles with the boys and her two-year-old daughter Suri, heading for a playdate at The Children’s Arts Studio on Santa Monica.

Victoria Beckham ran nine miles a day for six months to slim down for a sexy lingerie shoot. The 34-year-old former Spice Girl – who is frequently criticised for being too thin – reportedly embarked on a strict exercise regime in preparation for an intimate Giorgio Armani underwear shoot.

A source said: “Like any woman, she’s conscious of her body, so she worked really hard to get into optimum shape.” It seems all her hard work has paid off – Victoria appears lithe, toned and athletic in the tasteful black and white shots, wearing nothing but a black polka dot bra and thong and black high heels.

Armani, who is good friends with the couple, praised Victoria calling her “a stylish and intriguing woman”. The singer – who has three children with soccer player husband David – reportedly hates stripping off for the camera, but couldn’t refuse the 12 million deal.

A source said: “Posh vowed never to do an underwear shoot again but the offer by Giorgio was too good to turn down.” The film-noir style images were shot by renowned photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, who also took the photos of David for his Armani campaign last year.

The Los Angeles Galaxy player caused controversy when his advertisement was unveiled, with some critics claiming the images had been airbrushed to make him appear well-endowed.[/lang_en]

[lang_en]VICTORIA BECKHAM was delighted to be asked to model underwear for Italian fashion house ARMANI – so she could show off her newly-toned body.

The former Spice Girl will debut as the “worldwide testimonial” for Emporio Armani Women’s underwear in the Spring/Summer 2009 campaign, with shots that were taken last month (Oct08). And the mother-of-three worked extra-hard to get her figure perfect for the shoot.

She says, “I started running regularly about a year ago and when this campaign came about, I began working harder every day. “And this morning I got on the treadmill and said, ‘OK then – this is my last chance!’”

Beckham featured in Marc Jacobs’ campaign earlier this year (08) – and felt honoured to take part in another international fashion shoot.

She adds, “It’s a huge compliment being asked to be in the campaign and to be part of the worldwide campaign for Emporio Armani underwear. “It’s really exciting to me. Mr. (Georgio) Armani is a lovely person and his team is fantastic, so it’s a really exciting project for me to be involved with. And hopefully they will see a huge response.” [/lang_en]
