David Beckham has told of how much he missed his wife and children while playing football in Italy.

The England star has been on loan at AC Milan since January, while Victoria and their three sons have remained in the United States.

“There are sacrifices I have made to be in Milan and play for AC Milan,” he said.

“I haven’t seen my children for six or seven weeks and that’s the biggest sacrifice I have had to make.

“Not seeing my family, not seeing my wife.

“I know there are many people with many jobs that do that but it doesn’t get any easier, doesn’t matter who you are.”

Beckham has missed his eldest son Brooklyn’s tenth birthday party and youngest son Cruz’s third birthday whilst being in Italy.

However, he promised that his future is back in Los Angeles with his family, playing football for LA Galaxy.

“I’m very committed to the Galaxy and like I said before I want to see the game grow in the US,” he said.

“I believe there is huge potential for the game.”

Beckham will fly back to the US after his involvement in England’s upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.

David and Victoria Beckham were planning to buy the famous Castle Sforzesco in Milan according to reports, but they have been told they can’t.

A report in Datasport.it claims Victoria has been looking for a permanent residence in Milan, and the Sforzesco Castle, which operates as a museum, ticked all the right boxes in terms of grandeur and opulence. Datasport suggested Victoria’s plans were to invest in the castle and make it the family home, but still keep the museum open in order to make a financial return.

However, Milan city council have reacted to the plans and the celebrity pair have been met with a stern ‘no’. The authorities have no intention of selling a piece of Italian heritage, the castle being a national treasure. Reports suggest the Beckhams were ready to make the castle their home, but it seems they will have to find another dwelling in or around the fashion capital.

There were voices that Victoria wanted to buy a whole floor of the Armani hotel which is being built in the city, but those plans were also scrapped, when she assumed she could wave her cash for the castle.

Beckham is currently on loan with the Rossoneri from Los Angeles Galaxy until the end of the season, but various reports have claimed he could be back in Milan in November when his deal with the MLS side expires.

Sadly Lily’s side didn’t fare as well as Becks’s, going down 4-0 to the rampant Red Devils.

That meant they were out of the, er, hat for yesterday’s draw.

[lang_en]England midfielder David Beckham said on Sunday he would stay on loan at Serie A club AC Milan until the end of the season before returning to Los Angeles Galaxy in the United States.

David Beckham isn’t willing to give in and forget his dreams of playing soccer in Milan. In fact, he’s done the next best thing – he’s signed on to play with two teams.

According to People.com, the soccer star will remain in Italy until the season ends in May, but he will then head back to the states to finish out his deal with the L.A. Galaxy. Beckham has been playing for Italy’s team, AC Milan, on loan from the Galaxy, on a kind of timeshare agreement.

By the time he returns to the Galaxy, the U.S. soccer season will be well under way. Once that season ends, though, Beckham will head right back to Milan. While living at George Clooney’s home on Lake Cuomo, Beckham made it clear that he doesn’t want to leave Italy, mainly because playing on such a high-level team will increase his chances of winning a spot on England’s national team.

However, his desire to stay in Milan doesn’t mean that he and wife Victoria are ready to leave Los Angeles. The Beckhams love their life in the U.S., and their three children are quite happy at their school.

David Beckham joyfully phoned wife Victoria after sealing his dream move to AC Milan and told her: “Ciao Bella.”

Becks will stay in Italy until the end of the season – while Victoria will remain in LA with their three children.

A source said: “Victoria was over the moon. She knows how important AC Milan is to him and fully supports his decision. It will be tough with him being apart from the family for periods of time but they are stronger than ever.

“They are like two teenagers in love who can’t wait to see each other whenever they get the chance.

“Victoria thinks it is like how they were when they first starting dating.”

Under a unique “timeshare” agreement, Becks, 33, will stay with the Italian giants until the end of the season and then will play for LA Galaxy between July and October.

He will then return to Milan in November for the rest of the following season.

Posh’s acceptance of the deal draws a line under a difficult few months for them.

The 34-year-old was initially wary of her husband staying full-time in Milan because she didn’t want to move the whole family over.

The pair reached a state of “uneasy deadlock” with neither refusing to budge.

But Becks’ agent Simon Fuller – the man behind the Spice Girls – helped broker a deal which has suited them both. Speaking at the Prince’s Trust Ball to the Mirror, Fuller said: “The children will stay in LA with Victoria so that their schooling is not disrupted.[/lang_en] (more…)

The star couple and their three sons moved to California when Beckham signed for Major League Soccer side L.A. Galaxy in 2007. He has recently been playing for Italian giants AC Milan on loan in a bid to resurrect his international career – and this month (Feb09) spoke of his desire to move there permanently. But he admits the family is torn between supporting his career and settling in America.

He tells British tabloid The People, “My family is the no.1 priority and I want to do what’s best for the children. They adore the U.S. and have settled well there. But at the same time, there is no doubt that if I want to keep playing for my country the best platform is in Milan.

“Victoria is as tormented as I am by all this. She is having sleepless nights and is hardly eating. I am worried about her – she is my wife and I want what is best for her as well. We both know this is a massive decision.”

The big freeze doesn’t seem to be a problem for Victoria Beckham as she jetted into snow-covered Britain in a knee-length mac with very little underneath.

The former Spice girl hurried through Heathrow airport in the smart silver trench coat, a large pair of sunglasses, a black and white checked bag and grey platform heels. But it was what she wasn’t wearing that raised the most eyebrows.

The leg show: Victoria Beckham reveals a bit of leg at Heathrow yesterday – but what was she wearing underneath? As she passed photographers the former pop star’s bare leg flashed out from beneath her coat.

But the small glimpse of her thigh was all she revealed of her under-coat attire.

Posh, 34, has come to Britain to discuss David’s possible permanent move to AC Milan. After flying in from Los Angeles she headed straight to the family’s Hertfordshire home – dubbed Beckingham Palace.

Victoria Beckham enjoyed a spot of shopping with two of her sons in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The 34-year-old donned a pair of killer heels for her trip out while Romeo, eight, and Cruz, who will turn four this month, wore matching outfits.

The youngsters were clad in identical jeans, trainers and blue T-shirts and completed their look with striped ties. Victoria Beckham in killer heels with sons Cruz and Romeo, who were wearing matching outfits, during a shopping trip out in LA over the weekend

Victoria was seen holding on tight to her sons’ hands – perhaps to steady herself as she negotiated a set of stairs in her huge heels. The star was wearing her trademark shades and was trussed up in a stunning thigh-splitting black dress and cardigan.

During their shopping spree, the boys got American Football team Pittsburgh Steelers caps. Victoria was spotted enjoying some quality time with her sons on Saturday while her husband David is on loan to AC Milan.[/lang_en] (more…)

Many reports indicate Milan would like to keep the English midfielder until beyond his expected return date to the LA Galaxy of March 9 and it appears his wife, Victoria, is in favour of the idea.

“I am happy, because I know David is happy in Milan, explained the former member of the Spice Girls, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport. “It’s wonderful to see he has already scored some goals in this like, I jump for joy when he scores.”

The 34-year-old was then asked how she enjoyed the staying in the ‘fashion capital’ of the world.

“I know many people here, especially from the world of fashion: Dolce and Gabbana, Armani and his staff, Cavalli, Berardi. The city is vibrant and full of energy and passion. You always eat well, there is no reason not to appreciate Milan.[/lang_en] (more…)

Milan may be a huge club, owned by ­Italy’s prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi, and boasting the biggest attendances in Italian football, but many in Milan were still struggling this week to come to terms with the pulling power of Brand ­Beckham.

“We understand this is not a normal player,” an official, who declined to be named, said. “He appears to travel with an army behind him.”

Billboards around Milan featuring Beckham clad in Armani underpants have not gone unnoticed, with the Milan forward Marco Borriello threatening to check in the dressing room to see if his new team-mate “is as well equipped as it looks in the advert”. And, finally, the 34-year-old strutted alongside Dolce & Gabbana”s Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in her simple black Camarague sheath dress, retailing for a cool $2,153.25.

Beckham’s latest foray into fashion – following the 2006 launch of her dVB denim and sunglasses collections – has been a resounding success in both the US and her native England.

[lang_en]David Beckham insists this has everything to do with soccer and nothing to do with fashion and celebrity.

The 33-year-old midfielder also acknowledged on Saturday that playing for AC Milan on loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy is a gamble.

Beckham, a former star for Manchester United and Real Madrid, said the move fulfills his dream of playing with a top Italian team and his goal of staying in shape during the MLS offseason in an attempt to keep a spot on England’s team.

“I wouldn’t take this opportunity if I didn’t think that I could help the team and help the club,” Beckham said during his introductory news conference at San Siro Stadium. “There are some great players out there. I don’t expect to be starting on the first day because it doesn’t happen that way.”

England coach Fabio Capello has said it is not enough for Beckham to train with AC Milan — he must also play to be considered for the national team.

“That is exactly the right thing a manager should do,” Beckham said. “If any player is not playing in a team or playing at a top level, then playing at an international level is virtually impossible.”

Beckham is bringing plenty of celebrity buzz with him to Italy. He is married to fashion icon Victoria Beckham and the player himself has done underwear ads for the Milanese designer Armani. Beckham said Milan’s status as a fashion capital did not enter into his decision.[/lang_en] (more…)
